Summer Art Camp 2008
a Glass Fusing Intensive for Teens
Ages 11 & Up (maximum 6 students)

Create one-of-a-kind kiln formed glass tiles, vessels, bowls, whimsical sculptures and jewelry. Students will explore the visual and elemental properties of glass through exploration, experimentation and observation. Instruction and exercises include fusing, slumping, casting, kiln equipment, studio tool and material use. Individuals will express themselves and their ideas through their various projects by using a variety of kiln forming techniques. Their finished projects will be substantial and awesome. All materials are included, no previous glass working experience necessary, only an enthusiasm for creativity and making cool stuff.

Sculpting Adventures - Art Camp

Expand your child's world with the gift of a truly artistic experience. Firework Studio's Sculpting Adventures offers children an opportunity to get their hands on a variety of exciting art making materials and techniques. Campers will explore the use of materials and meaning by studying examples of objects from art history. They will learn how to skillfully manipulate different materials and how their choices add meaning to their art. Children can experience the power of self-expression by communicating ideas through their own artwork. We will spend an exhilarating week investigating the possibilities of traditional and non-traditional materials for art making.

Campers will experiment, explore and learn while creating art projects that will be treasured forever.

Classes and Workshops

Art Glass Projects Class
Ages 9 and Up
Students will create their own fused art-glass tiles, bowls, whimsical sculptures and jewelry. Children will explore the visual and elemental properties of glass through experimentation and observation. They will learn several kiln forming and glass fusing techniques, which they will use to express themselves through various projects that are sure to be treasured forever. Each week will bring a new adventure and a deeper appreciation for the endless possibilities of glass. Family and Friends will be invited to an exhibition on the final day of the session to celebrate and view the artist's works. All materials included.

Visiting Artist Workshops - We Bring the Glass Studio to you!
Give the magic of glass to your school, club, party or meeting..

Firework Studio's one-hour workshop is an introduction to the ancient art of glass fusing. This one-hour workshop is an introduction to the ancient art of glass fusing. Children learn about translucency, opacity, layering and assembly techniques as well as technical and scientific aspects of melting glass. Everyone will design and create his or her own unique art-glass piece that they will be very proud of. Participants will use glue and tweezers to assemble their collages, which are then taken to the glass studio to be fired in a kiln. Finished projects will be returned to the artists the following week. All materials and tools are provided. Additional, same-day consecutive sessions are available at a discounted rate for some workshops.

Call to schedule Pricing starts at around $300 per group of 20 participants. Price includes instruction, firing of projects and all materials.

Group Platter Projects
Each student collaborates with the group to make a small fused glass tile that gets composed into a beautiful platter that can be auctioned off to raise money for the school or as a gift for a special teacher. Call the studio for details

Glass Fusing Project Kits Available

Our kits offer people of all ages and skill levels an exciting opportunity to make real fused glass art pieces. Anyone can create his or her own glass tiles, sun-catchers, whimsical sculptures, jewelry or plates. Our studio furnishes the supplies, tools and instructions that will be used to make unique and expressive glass art objects. You assemble your pieces and we do the fusing/firing for you. After School Enrichment Classes
Contract Firework Studio to hold weekly after school Glass Fusing classes at your location

- Students will create their own fused art-glass tiles, bowls, whimsical sculpture sand jewelry.

- All classes and projects are appropriately customized for the age group involved. We offer classes for Pre-k through High School students.

- Classes are held weekly and last 1-hour (8-12 meetings per session).

- Our art instructors bring the supplies and tools that students will use to create unique and expressive glass art objects weekly. Artwork will be transported after each class to the glass studio for firing, fused pieces will be returned to students the following week.

- Firework Studio will provide the promotional materials necessary to present the class to students and their families. "Back to school night" demonstrations can be arranged.
